Femap Webinar: Transient Thermal Analysis

Femap with NX Nastran provides substantial heat transfer and thermal stress capability. Using past experience in rail wheel analysis, this webinar covers transient thermal analysis including conduction and convection, plus thermal stress analysis at some of the transient thermal time steps. The webinar demonstrates the use of both temperature dependent thermal and mechanical properties, and includes non-linear yield effects and residual stress. This webinar focuses only on those capabilities available out-of-the-box, without requiring any add-on options to perform the demonstrated analyses. Femap Webinar: Introduction to non-linear buckling

Femap with NX Nastran provides eigenvalue (Euler) buckling as a simple method to understand collapse modes that can occur well below otherwise acceptable design stresses. Non-linear buckling takes this a step further by properly including 2nd order displacement/stiffness effects and/or follower forces. Arc length methods are also available to investigate post-buckling behaviour, or any general condition where a load dropoff may occur during progression of load. • Your computing power might not simultaneously cope with the large scale combined with very local details in a complex assembly.
